Welcome to Reception

Our Writing-

World Book Day in Reception!

Welcome to the Reception Classroom!

We have an amazing forest school site dedicated to our Early Years! The children can cook on fires, climb trees, make potions, use bow saws, create shelters, role play, swing on rope swings, and much more! This helps with a huge range of skills, including physical, social, communication, resilience and creativity!

WELCOME to Reception

Welcome to Reception Class at St Joseph’s. Our Reception Class Teacher is Mr Brett and the Teaching Assistants are Miss Paxton and Mrs Morton.

Our Class Saint is St Joseph. We learn that St Joseph was hard-working, patient, protective, faithful and loving.

Reception at St Joseph’s takes each unique child and nurtures every aspect of their learning and development through the provision of an enabling environment and positive relationships. We work closely as a team, using each of our strengths to get the best outcomes for each child and ensure they are given every opportunity to reach their potential. We use our knowledge of the Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning to foster positive attitudes to learning and school life which will carry the children throughout their school journey. Our aim is always to work closely with parents to benefit each child and ensure that all adults are working as a team with the children’s best interests at the heart of everything they do.
